Privacy Policy for Sensorito Wi-Fi Scanner

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

This application does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or user data on our own servers. We do not have servers that receive or process data from this app.

2. Location Data

This app may request permanent access to your device's location. Location data is used for the following optional features:

  • Wi-Fi network coverage analysis outdoors.
  • Internet speed testing, when you voluntarily choose to run a speed test through the integrated third-party services (Ookla and Cloudflare).

Important notes about location access:

The location permission is required if you want to use these features while the app is running in the background. If you grant permanent location access, both features will work even when the app is minimized or the screen is off.

If you deny permanent location access, both features will still work, but ONLY while the app is actively open on your screen and not minimized. As soon as you minimize the app or turn off the screen, these features will stop functioning until you return to the app.

When you first activate a feature that requires location, your device will display a system prompt requesting permanent access to location. You are free to grant or deny this permission. You can also change your decision at any time through your device settings.

No location data is collected, stored, or transmitted by us. If location data is transmitted, it goes directly to the third-party services described below.

3. Third-Party Services (Speed Test)

This app includes an optional internet speed test feature. This feature is powered by third-party services (Ookla and Cloudflare).

Important: Your data is only sent to these third-party services IF and WHEN you voluntarily decide to run a speed test. If you do not use this feature, no data is transmitted to them.

When you run a speed test, the following data may be sent directly to Ookla's and Cloudflare's servers to provide you with test results: your IP address, network performance metrics (ping, download/upload speed, latency), and location data if you have previously granted location permission.

These third-party services operate independently and have their own privacy policies that govern their collection and use of data. You can review them here:

4. Permissions

The app requires internet access for its core functionality. Location permission is optional. If granted permanently, it allows Wi-Fi coverage analysis and speed test features to continue working in the background. If denied, these features work only while the app is active and visible on screen. No other permissions are requested.

5. Data Storage

No data from this app is stored on our servers. Any data related to your usage, such as test results or preferences, may be stored locally on your device.

6. Children's Privacy

This app does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. The optional features provided by third-party services (Ookla, Cloudflare) are not directed at children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
